When a producer or artist I like attempts to remake/remix an amazing song, I like to think the motivation is born out of a love for the original, and so I can understand the attempt even when it doesn’t work. Kastle comes very close to pulling this one off BUT, doesn’t quite get it right. Frank Ocean’s ‘Pyramids’ is a magnificent 10 minute musical journey, Kastle takes some of my favourite parts of that journey and re-imagines it for the dance floor. It’s the last minute and a half that is a little over indulgent and in truth, completely extraneous. Apart from that, this as good a swing at this as you’re going to hear.
